We provide individual and family counselling and psychotherapy services to parents and children impacted by food allergy-related stressors. We understand each individual’s experience is unique, so treatment plans are individualized to suit those specific needs.

Counselling and therapy sessions may explore a variety of food allergy-related issues including but not limited to:

Anxiety, worry and fear related to allergies (for parent or child)

Avoidant behaviors (birthday parties, Halloween, vacations, etc.)

Hypervigilance and unhelpful thought processes

Coping with food allergy diagnosis

Dealing with non-compliance or lack of understanding

Feelings of exclusion, isolation or bullying

Advocating for yourself or your child

Challenges related to eating outside the home

Dating and relationships

Stress with oral food challenges or oral immunotherapy (OIT)

Food aversion and feeding issues

Stress with checking food labels and meal preparation

Anxiety with entrusting your child to others

Parental guilt

Appointments

Sessions: Each session is 30 or 60 minutes. Appointment times are flexible, with additional availability on nights and weekends. No Sunday availability.

Location: Currently, all sessions are completed virtually on a secure telehealth platform (video or phone).

Rate: $75 - 30 minute session; $150 - 60 minute session. Services are GST/HST exempt.

Payment: Payment can be made via cash, cheque or e-transfer. As a Registered Occupational Therapist, my professional services are covered by some extended health insurance plans. Please consult with your insurance provider if necessary.

Cancelled appointments: 24-hour notice is required.

Provinces Served: Currently, teletherapy services are available in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
